Beaver Creek inmate dies while in custody

On August 13, 2023, Jaime Restrepo, an inmate from Beaver Creek Institution, died while in Correction Services Canada custody.

At the time of death, the inmate had been serving an indeterminate sentence, which commenced on July 10, 2008, for first-degree murder. Restrepo was one of three men sentenced to life in prison after a jury found them guilty in the execution-style killing outside the Square One Shopping Centre Mississauga of a major Canadian drug trafficker. Restrepo was 34 at the time of his conviction.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.

Dr. Don Keedic needs to realize that John Whitty has a very serious concern. Someone will also die at Muskoka Airport if he actually understands the serious aviation risks which this airport management are continually ignoring. Even Council now has a majority which ignore this science.

Increased crosswinds and building turbulence threats are increasing as we speak due to their “policy” recommendations. It is only a matter of time.

I don’t believe John Whitty meant any disrespect.

Unlike yourself I have zero sympathy for execution-style murderers.
    Or any other style.
My comment was about the picture, not the deceased.
    You are incorrect as well.
The runway used to belong to Muskoka residents, not myself.
Now it belongs to those with undue influence based on bunk from the dangerously incompetent.

John Whitty – Your comments here are heartless. A man died. Time and place about your grass runway.

A good picture of the grass runway at the top. Mind boggling that it’s closed for no reason at all.
Just undue influence like the Greenbelt.
