Beatrice Louise Snyder

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, Beatrice Louise Snyder (nee Stefanowich) passed peacefully at the Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge, Ontario, in her 83rd year.

Beloved spouse of Burpee Snyder (Burt), mother of Bruce Snyder (Nuvia) of McKellar and Colette Snyder of Toronto, and grandmother of Riley and Callum MacDonald.

Beatrice was born in Toronto on September 25, 1943. She was the second of 6 children born to William and Regina Stefanowich (nee Belanger), who were both blind.

She is survived by her older sister Rita and her younger brothers Guy and Kenneth. Predeceased by brothers Raymond and Richard.

Beatrice married Burt on September 30th, 1961. Together they lived in Toronto, Georgetown, Caledon, New Germany, Nova Scotia, and Baysville. In addition to being a wife and mother, she worked as a secretary at Economy Forms Corporation and Neilson Dairy. She had a strong Roman Catholic faith and was a regular churchgoer.

Beatrice had a love of sewing, knitting machines, camping and dogs.

Beatrice’s family would like to thank all of the staff at The Pines Long Term Care Home for all of the love and care that was provided to their mother.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 12, at 1:00 pm at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 12 Centre Street North, Huntsville, Ontario. Reception to follow.

Memorial donations to The Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge or the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka would be greatly appreciated.
