BDO well on the way to collecting over three tons of food in support of the Table Food Bank

Last week BDO Huntsville hosted their seventh annual Drive Away Hunger Charity BBQ in support of the Table Food Bank. The Drive Away Hunger campaign is supported nationally with each individual BDO office choosing a local food bank to receive the donations.

The local office set a goal of collecting 7,500 pounds of food. As of Tuesday they had $2,100 in monetary donations, and just over 6,750 pounds of food, with quite a bit of food still left to weigh.

Kimberly Keown and Neal Bailey of Huntsville Fuels are seen here dropping off a food donation to add to the total.

As the sun started to peek out and the BBQ started to sizzle, lots of local companies and people dropped by to support the cause.

According to Reva Frame, CA with BDO, there is still lots of time to make a donation.

“We are accepting food and cheques and cash until the end of September,” Reva said. “For monetary donations you can get a charity receipt for your tax return.”

Donations can be made at the BDO office at 75 West Road in Huntsville during regular business hours.
