Arrowhead skating trail gets international recognition including LIVE! With Kelly and Michael

It’s no secret any more: we have a wonderful thing right in our own back yard. The unique appeal of Arrowhead’s skating trail is gaining international attention with a locally-produced video going viral online and mention today (January 29) on the popular U.S. morning show LIVE! With Kelly and Michael.

“I wish I could ice skate and I would do that!” said co-host Kelly Ripa. “It would take me like seven years,” she added of the trail’s 1.3 km distance.

Strahan joked that he might struggle to skate if an animal happened to run out during night skating, adding he’d stick to the trail during daylight hours.

You can see the clip at 1:13 on the video here.

Muskoka Tourism’s 2015 video of the trail went viral earlier this month with more than 250,000 views in one week.

The video, which was released as part of Muskoka Tourism’s winter marketing campaign, has been making its rounds across the internet, they said in a release. At the start of 2016, the video had 15,000 views and was already the most watched video on Muskoka Tourism’s Youtube channel. Since then, the video’s popularity has exploded, with features on Huffington Post Canada and Unwindly helping fuel its rapid circulation.

What a great idea. Ottawa has the canal; Huntsville an ice trail.
