Algonquin Theatre to feature new family-friendly movies this Fall

The Algonquin Theatre has announced a new family-friendly movie program this Fall with a Caregiver & Tot Matinee and Movie Night on select Tuesdays.

The Caregiver & Tot Matinee will be held at 10 a.m. and provides a theatre experience catered to young children, including toddler-friendly movie titles. The cost is $5 per adult, and kids are free with a caregiver. At the Caregiver & Tot Matinee, the theatre will be more brightly lit, the movie will be at a lower volume, and selected movies will be shorter in length. There are also special arrangements made for stroller parking, toddler-friendly food options, and diaper change facilities that include a diaper genie.

“We wanted to create an experience that was accessible to families and removed the traditional barriers that discourages bringing young children to movie theatres,” shares Matt Huddlestone, Manager of the Algonquin Theatre. “By welcoming parents and caregivers of young ones, we are fostering a more understanding environment as we know it can be difficult for little ones to sit through a whole movie. It’s important we continue to offer programs catered to different audiences within our community.”

The first screening for the Caregiver & Tot Matinee will be Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie at 10 am on October 14, 2025. The first Movie Night will present Minecraft The Movie at 7 pm on October 14, 2025. Admission for the Minecraft screening will be $10 per adult and $5 per youth.

The Algonquin Theatre will be announcing future screening dates for the Caregiver & Tot Matinee and Movie Night through Facebook.
