Administrative Assistant – Dorset Health Hub Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Administrative Assistant at the Nurse Practitioner Wellness Hub in Dorset. Come and join a highly skilled team and work to support primary care access and attachment in the Dorset community in a beautiful setting.

This role will provide administrative and receptionist duties to the Nurse Practitioner Wellness Hub; as well as completely support the day-to-day operations as required to provide caring, compassionate, and timely patient-centered care.

This position requires:

  • Previous office and administration experience, in health care setting
  • Completion of education and training in medical office management will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Good working knowledge of medical electronic health records (Telus PSS suites preferred) and common computer programs, including word processing, email and spreadsheets
  • Previous experience in managing multiple health care providers schedules, office operations and coordination of services
  • Asset if experience in autoclaving, supply ordering for office, public health, and laboratory services; in addition to coordination of these services

Knowledge & Skill:

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to converse on a one-to-one basis using diplomatic language, discuss a variety of job-related topics, ability to respond to difficult questions, and the ability to speak, interact and provide information to persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
  • The ability to use sound judgment, and initiate action that maintains safety, security, and dignity for all parties
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task while providing consistent high-quality work
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the Algonquin Family Health Team
  • Ability to be a team member and work to deliver health care services to the full scope of practice of all employees
