An additional $30,000 available in second round of Muskoka Community Foundation grants

Muskoka Community Foundation Announces a Second Round of Granting from the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th

The Muskoka Community Foundation (MCF) is pleased to announce that applications for the second round of granting from the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th and the Smart & Caring Muskoka Fund will open January 16, 2017. The Community Fund for Canada’s 150th is an effort led by Community Foundations of Canada and the national network of community foundations with the support from the Government of Canada and leaders from coast to coast to coast.

Muskoka Community Foundation will once again partner with the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th with access to matching funding to increase our granting impact form the Smart & Caring Muskoka Fund. This second round of funding gives Muskoka a pool of $30,000 to award, applications for grants of up to $10,000 for projects that meet the fund eligibility criteria will be considered. The Muskoka Community Foundation will give priority to projects that work to build vibrant and healthy communities and advance Muskoka Community Foundation’s aim to create a Smart & Caring Muskoka. Muskoka Community Foundation will be accepting applications for the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th from January 16 to February 24, 2017.

Program Director, Lynn DeCaro, recommends that people check Muskoka Community Foundation’s website, Facebook and Twitter feed for more information about the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th. DeCaro said “we are very honoured to be able to offer a second round of funding in Muskoka and are thankful to community leaders such as Paul Davis Systems and Fowler Construction for helping to make it possible”. DeCaro added that “grants will be announced and awarded at this year’s Smart & Caring Muskoka Celebration being held on Friday, May 5th”.

Muskoka Community Foundation is proud to partner with the Community Foundation of Canada and the Government of Canada to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. The Community Fund for Canada’s 150th is a collaborative effort, providing thousands of small grants to local initiatives across the country. The Fund is supported by the Government of Canada and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast. The Fund is matched and delivered locally by Canada’s 191 community foundations.
