Spring Serenade, a musical concert offering up Baroque, Jazz and Pop, with singers and musicians from the Huntsville area, is being staged on Sunday June 11 at 3pm at Sutherland Hall in Huntsville.
Patricia and Philip Morehead are both professional musicians who have recently settled in Lake of Bays. Although retired, they still enjoy making and sharing music, and so together they’ve organized “Spring Serenade”, featuring vocalists and musicians from All Saints’ Church and from the Huntsville area.
Music for the event ranges from Baroque, to Jazz, to Pop, and includes performers of all ages. The Moreheads will be joined by Martha and Philip Kashap for a short Baroque piece by Telemann. Karen Richards and Merrill Perret join the Moreheads for another Baroque selection, then they’ll shift the musical style ahead a few centuries with some instrumental Pop.
The program also features The Loft Singers under the direction of Sherisse Stevens. Saxophonist Joe Alsano will accompany Sherisse for some jazz numbers. Ven. Dawn Henderson will sing an opera aria. Tonic Lane with vocalist Grace Christensen are offering contemporary music, and the children of the Huntsville Suzuki School of Music performing with their teacher, Philip Kashap, will perform. The event will be an afternoon of eclectic “feel good” music.
