There are a multitude of ways to find a job in the digital age, but what separates Agilec is their ability to help job seekers reach their full potential in the workforce.
Operating out of Bracebridge and serving all of Muskoka, Agilec is an employment services provider offering free personalized support to job seekers, employers and individuals with disabilities.
“Our goal isn’t just to help you get a job, it’s to help you get a job and keep a job,” says Valerie Alward, case manager with Agilec. “One of the first questions we ask people when they arrive is, ‘What is your dream job?’”
The team at Agilec in Bracebridge says they’ve achieved considerable success over the years locally. In fact, they’ve had clients in Muskoka who have used their services to obtain employment and are now back with Agilec looking for employees of their own.
Agilec also offers a range of services and business supports to meet the unique recruitment and retention needs of every business. With Agilec’s services, employers will gain access to the resources, expertise, and supports needed to build and maintain a strong workforce.
To help set job seekers up for success, Agilec uses an extensive pre-employment program. That includes free workshops, training, and access to a multitude of community partners including the District of Muskoka, local mental health service providers, and educational institutions like Contact North and Georgian College.
“Whether you need help understanding your skills and interests or you’re unsure of the next step, we’re here to help you explore your options and achieve your employment goals,” says Amy Hickey of Agilec.
One-on-one career planning and personalized employment action plans are additional ways Agilec can help with the pre-employment process. Once those parameters have been established, Agilec can offer direct connections to employers who are hiring, assist with training to build skills and apprenticeships, develop job search tools and even financial support.
“We’re not the same as a temp agency,” says Hickey. “We want a job that fits the needs of the employer and the employee. We also don’t do the work for our clients either. We teach them the skills to create their own CV and the skills to retain their jobs but the work is up to them.”
Finding a job that fits is just the start for Agilec. They can continue with an additional 12 months of job coaching and mentoring, as well as continued access to training and development.
Agilec specializes in helping clients who might have a high barrier to employment. That could be challenges with transportation, child care or housing.
“Once you walk through these doors whatever you need. we’ll find it for you,” says Hickey. “If we don’t have it, we’ll find someone who does.”
The Bracebridge Agilec Office is located at 195 Wellington Street, Unit 11 in Bracebridge and the public is invited to drop in anytime Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm . You can reach them by phone at (705) 646-0475 or visit their website Here.
