Twenty-eight volunteers with the Lake Vernon Association (LVA) hit the roads this year to pick up discarded waste along Muskoka Road 3 and Muskoka Road 2, from Hwy 11 out to Muskoka Road 45.
This is the third year that the LVA has carried out this program and said they are noticing this year that it is starting to make a difference in the appearance of both Ravenscliffe and Aspdin Roads.
“The mission of the LVA is to protect the natural environment, health and beauty of Lake Vernon, and address issues affecting the lake as well as its membership while promoting a supportive community,” said LVA President Peter May. “Our road clean-up initiative is just another way for our members to demonstrate their commitment to the environment and our beautiful community. I am extremely proud of the many volunteers who dedicate their personal time for this program and the many other initiatives the LVA undertakes.”
The LVA thanked volunteers for their hard work and local businesses for supporting the cleanup effort.
