YWCA Muskoka is seeking new board members

YWCA Muskoka champions positive change for women and girls by working to:

• Prevent violence, particularly against women and girls;
• Reduce the impact of poverty;
• Advocate on issues that affect women and girls;
• Provide leadership on issues that affect older women; and
• Enhance our organizational capacity.

The following volunteer positions are available:

Board of Directors
YWCA Muskoka board directors must be able to commit approximately 8 hours a month and are required to sit on one subcommittee. We are currently looking for applicants in the following areas but are not limited to these. We encourage all who are interested to apply.

• All women – we encourage women under 30 to apply!
• Male representation
• Representation from the following areas:
  • Arts, Environment, Politics, Tourism Sector
  • FNMI
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Media
  • Education

Nominations Committee member
When there is vacancy on the Board of Directors the nominating committee will form to recruit new members.

Women of Distinction Chair
Objectives:
To plan, organize and carry out a successful fundraiser comprised of an Awards night and silent auction
To create a positive, inclusive event that highlights the talents of women in Muskoka.
