With campaigning underway for the September 20, 2021 federal election, all of the major parties have now declared candidates for Parry Sound-Muskoka.
As of August 23, the following Parry Sound-Muskoka candidates will be on the federal ballot next month:
Conservative:
Scott Aitchison (incumbent) was elected Member of Parliament for Parry Sound-Muskoka in 2019. He served as mayor of Huntsville from 2014 to 2019. Read more here.
Green:
Marc Mantha is a business development consultant with a green conscience. Raised as a northern boy, he spent years in Toronto building his career before moving to Muskoka to build a tiny home and right-size his life. Marc ran for Gravenhurst Town Council in 2018. Read more here.
Liberal:
Jovanie Nicoyishakiye is, according to her Twitter feed, an educator, philanthropist, and social activist. She is a mother of two girls, and a French teacher who graduated from Ottawa U and McMaster. Watch for more information here.
NDP:
Heather Hay (she/her) is a human rights activist who has built strong networks and communities locally and nationally. As the coordinator for Elder Abuse Prevention Muskoka, she is committed to creating a poverty-free and age-friendly Muskoka. Read more here.
People’s Party of Canada:
Jim Tole is a retired (2017) Secondary School Science Teacher for the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and most recently (January-June 2019) part-time, contract Professor of Math for Canadore College in Parry Sound. Read more here.

Election day is Monday, September 20, 2021. Advance polls will be open on September 10, 11, 12, and 13. Learn more about where and how to vote at elections.ca. (Note that some voting information is not yet available.)
