“We want to showcase that the (Algonquin Theatre) is so much more than concerts,” says Lisa Spolnik, marketing manager for the Town of Huntsville, in reference to the theatre’s newly redesigned website.
“This website can help people can explore our community’s dining options, attend summer drama camps, attend an art show in Partners Hall and so much more,” says Spolnik.
There are new visuals, including professional photography, along with new features like a vlog (video blog), social media streams, and an interactive calendar. New vlogs will be added often and will feature behind-the-scenes content about the theatre.
There is also a page where you can meet the team that runs the theatre as well as a page about their volunteers and how you can get involved.
Theatre manager, Matt Huddlestone, is thrilled with the site’s new look. “The arts are a visual industry and now we have a beautifully visual website,” he says.
But more than just beautiful, the site is also more functional. It’s easier to explore upcoming shows, find those in your favourite genre like comedy, country or musical thanks to an advanced calendar search feature, and purchase tickets.
“We created this site with our customers in mind,” says Spolnik. “We can now provide a much better experience with our updated website.”
Another notable change in the website is that there is now a mobile-friendly version, allowing patrons to purchase tickets on the go.
“Online ticket sales have been skyrocketing in the last few years,” says Huddlestone. “Making a mobile version was absolutely crucial when we decided to update the website.”

I love the new website, but Matt and Samantha are still the Theatres best resources: two personable individuals are always worth more than all the pixels in the world.
