TVO Docs highlights the history of the Empire Hotel in short documentary

If you remember the Empire Hotel, you’ll want to watch this short documentary about the building from TVO Docs. It’s part of a Main Street Ontario series that, according to the TVO website, “visits big cities and small towns across Ontario revealing what makes each place unique. Step inside iconic community landmarks and meet the people who breathe life into local culture.”

Their teaser for this short doc reads: “The Empire Hotel was once an elegant landmark on Huntsville’s thriving main street. Joni Mitchell was rumoured to have written ‘Raised on Robbery’ there. When a kind landlord bought the hotel to create affordable apartments, a fire ended his dream.
