The Muskoka: A floor plan to fall in love with
Are you looking for a new home and not sure what to look for? Let me tell you about some of my favourite features in the Muskoka by Edgewood Homes. Amazing walk-in closets, proximity to all kinds of amenities, and the large covered front porch. If that sounds appealing, check out Highcrest—best part… you won’t even have to shovel your own snow. Thank goodness for that.
When looking for a home, it’s important to think about how you’ll use it. Are you outdoorsy? Do you love to cook? Maybe your garage is most important to you. The Muskoka floor plan (shown left) in the new Highcrest community in Huntsville has something for everyone.
Coming home
With beautiful exteriors featuring brick and stone, large windows, and contemporary accents, the Muskoka is a beautiful and welcoming home.
Keep things on hand in your large garage with plenty of space for storage. With a door from the garage straight into the laundry room you can take off your dirty shoes, clean off paws, and toss the muddy towel right in the washer. Maybe you’d rather have an optional door from the garage to the foyer, just a step from the walk-in hall closet, to take off all your layers. The spacious front hall closet has plenty of room for your collection of shoes and outerwear for every season.
Want more storage?
The Muskoka has closets everywhere, a large guest bedroom closet, walk-in closets in the foyer and master bedroom, linen closets for both the main bath and laundry room, and a pantry for all your dry goods in the kitchen. Plus, there’s tons of storage space in the extra-full-height basement, finished or not. You know what that means: lots of room to hide away any clutter, whether that be clothes, crafts, tools, or books.
Love to entertain, but hate to share the kitchen?
The breakfast bar at the island is perfect for hosting guests while cooking. You get the whole kitchen to yourself, and your guests can keep you company.
With a bright, open floorplan you won’t miss out on the conversation if you need to put something in the oven. Guests too tired to drive home? I know I would be. No worries, there are several guest parking areas and a spacious second bedroom, so you won’t have to worry about getting them home.
I don’t know about you, but after all that cooking and cleaning up, I’d love to relax for a little bit. What better place to do it than outside on the spacious back deck with a glass of wine? Weather less than perfect? Pull up a comfy chair on your covered front porch and you’re good to go. Maybe you’d rather curl up on the couch by the fireplace with a nice book—or in the massive closet in your bedroom? We won’t judge.
However you use your home, it’s important that whatever you choose has features to fit your lifestyle. What features work best for you? Can you picture yourself living here?
