Have you been wondering how the new Campus Trails development near the hospital is progressing? You can find out on August 2. Greystone Project Management invites residents to an open house for a socially distanced tour of the site from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Staff will meet guests at a check-in point and hand out sanitized personal protective equipment before the tour begins.
The Campus Trails development consists of a 30-unit residential condominium building (The Tom), a medical professional wellness centre (Campus Trails), and a wellness services building that will be developed in phase two of the plan.
Construction of the the main floor of The Tom is well under way and construction of the second floor will begin in early August. Meanwhile, residents are invited to come and check out the completed Campus Trails Wellness Centre at 39 Campus Trail, which is located off Muskoka Rd. 3 North.
The Tom condos offer 11 different modern suite layouts, all inspired by the works of artist Tom Thomson, with natural views of the surrounding landscape. The condos start in the low $290,000 range.
“This is our eighteenth condo building. We’ve built in Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Haliburton, Fenelon Falls, Parry Sound, but it’s been awhile since we’ve been in Huntsville,” said Alex Dussault, financial controller at Greystone Project Management. “For every building we build we learn from it and apply the knowledge to the next building to make it better and more comfortable for suite owners and try to deliver what people are after. We don’t just build the same building over and over. It’s designed to match the environment it’s being built in and we offer amenities to match the market needs and wants.”
Current construction progress includes the framing of the underground parking level with insulated concrete forms and poured concrete, the installation of the first-floor flooring system using concrete pre-cast slabs, and the continuation of framing for the first floor with ICF, along with rough openings including those for the 96″ x 96″ balcony doors.
The Campus Trails development is on 32 acres of land nestled in the trees off Muskoka Rd. 3 North, near Earls Road.
“We brought new services down the road for access to the hospital. There’s a new water main in the road that provides access to the hospital to further support their services and allows the hospital to grow,” said Dussault. “One of the needs of the hospital was increased water supply for their sprinkler system, so that’s now there.”
Some of the on-site amenities at The Tom include connected walking trails and a community garden on the Campus Trails property, heated underground parking, a wash bay for vehicles, pets, outdoor gear and garden tools, a bike and canoe storage area, elevator access throughout the building, a common amenity room, and a dedicated personal-services room.
Occupancy is set for spring 2021.
Greystone has created a new design centre across from its main office at 8 Crescent Rd., which is open for tours throughout the week.
“We have this great showroom where people can come and see what we do, they can touch and feel what a condo unit built by Greystone feels like,” said Dussault. “You can drop in and ask questions. We’re not a high-pressure sales team.”
Greystone is working with real estate agent James Ball of RE/MAX, to sell the condo units. Those interested can reach out to him directly, if desired, at 705-773-8833 or [email protected].
