Swim Advisory issued for Dwight Beach

From Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) would like to inform Township of Lake of Bays residents and visitors that a Swim Advisory has been issued for Dwight Beach. Recent water testing has indicated E. coli levels exceeding the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 mL.

According to the health unit, during a swim advisory, the beach is posted with warning signs indicating that the most recent water samples showed bacteria in numbers that may increase your risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose, or throat infections, or stomach illness. If you choose to swim during a swim advisory, avoid dunking your head or swallowing the water.

Please see the SMDHU website for more information.
