Nothing says Christmas more than those who do something for others just because. That’s exactly what Greg and Pam Smith on Boundary Road in the quiet community of Novar have been doing for well over ten years—offering visitors an amazing show of lights and music and maybe a candy cane.
When December rolls around, the Smith home and yard transform into a dazzling display of holiday cheer.
All in all, the property is decorated by roughly 46,000 lights which are controlled by a computer program.
It is not uncommon to see cars parked along the front side of the house and hear giggles from the back seat as children take in the festive lights and music. Music plays quietly outside and, thanks to a low-power FM transmitter, you can also sit in your car and tune in to the music and watch as the lights dance to the sounds. If you’re lucky, Greg will come out and offer viewers candy canes.
“We like to do it. We like to see people come and enjoy the lights,” said Greg Smith.
