An impaired driver found himself in a Bracebridge courtroom after being involved in a single-vehicle collision.
James Vassallo, 32, recently pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.
Court heard that on June 1, 2024 the Huntsville OPP received a call regarding a single-vehicle collision on Stephenson Road 4 in Huntsville.
When they arrived, they saw a man attempting to tow a vehicle down the road. They spoke with the driver, Vassallo, and smelled alcohol on his breath.
A breathalyzer test provided readings of 198 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, more than twice the legal limit.
Vassallo was sentenced to a $2,000 fine, a one-year driving ban, and one-year probation.
