SHOW your LOVE for LOCAL and win!

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the Port Sydney/Utterson & Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting you to ‘SHOW your LOVE for LOCAL’ by recommending your favourite local businesses, activities, and/or scenic views for a chance to win one of six draw prizes!

“It’s an opportunity for people to give their shout-outs to everything they love about the Port Sydney/Utterson Area,” said Chamber manager Sandra Watson-Brown. Postcards were circulated to area residents in the mail to encourage participation, but the draw is open to anyone who’d like to make a recommendation—they just need to be able to pick up their prize if they win.

People can get ideas for favourite businesses by checking the Chamber’s Member Directory or the new Brochure Bunkie sign outside the Chamber office. Members located beyond the immediate area are eligible to be recommended, and so are local businesses who have not yet joined the Chamber, as they are all connected to Port Sydney/Utterson through the services they provide to those who live in or visit the area.

“Our fall/winter campaign has been ‘Shop/Hire/Find/Choose Local in Port Sydney/Utterson’ so we’re really hoping to see some enthusiasm for all things local with this draw,” said Chamber president Derek Watson-Brown.

Whether people want to talk up great products, super selection, friendly customer service, fun seasonal activities, beloved community events, a beautiful trail, or their favourite outdoor family photo backdrop, the Chamber is hoping to receive plenty of entries via email or social media messages through to the end of February 14.

Prize packs include items such as: Chamber mugs and note pads; gift certificates for area businesses; books by local authors; and winter gear to keep winners warm while skating at the Lions rink, snowmobiling on the trails, or snapping pictures of our beautiful Muskoka winter.

There are two ways to learn more about the draw:

• visit the Chamber’s website at www.portsydneycoc.com to find draw details and social media links; or
• stop by the Brochure Bunkie to pick up a postcard and check the draw rules on display in the Chamber office window.

Anyone entering via social media can do so by responding to the Chamber’s draw-themed posts or by initiating posts of their own, being sure to tag the Chamber and to include the hashtags #PortSydneyUtterson and #CountryConvenience on every entry submitted.
