Shoppers gala raises $2,820 for Community Living Huntsville

The Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty department has raised $2,820 for Community Living Huntsville at their Spring Gala.

As well as being a retailer, the Huntsville Shoppers Drug Mart’s Beauty department provides makeup applications for all types of occasions. From weddings and events, to grad and prom, the department utilizes all of their high end brands in order to create the perfect look for their clients.

Year after year, the department enjoys getting involved with events in the community.

“We will be a setting up a booth at Nuit Blanche North with Smashbox doing makeup on people. We love to support our community, get involved in community; which is why we support Community Living,” said beauty manager Mandy Bailey.

The beauty galas are held country wide and each location chooses who they want to support in their individual community.

Participants of the Gala are able to purchase a ticket for $10, half of which is donated to the charity and the other half goes toward the participant’s next purchase at Shoppers. The department also has silent auctions, surprise makeup goodie bags, draw baskets and other events to raise more funds.

Although the gala is held in the beauty department, the entire store helps out with each event.

This year Shoppers chose Community Living Huntsville as their gala recipient.

“We were thrilled to choose Community Living as our recipient” said Bailey. “Their team supports us and we know Community Living supports a lot of people in the community.”

Shoppers hopes that the money raised will go towards women’s mental health at Community Living.
