Santa’s helpers have been hard at work sorting items for Habitat for Humanity’s latest fundraiser, a Christmas-themed silent auction opening today (November 14) at Huntsville Place Mall.
Shoppers can place bids on items ranging from custom furniture, household goods, and a variety of children’s toys. They’ve reserved some of the rarest, exclusive, and valuable Muskoka-area ReStore donations for the silent auction. Check them out in the storefront across from Hallmark.
Bidding will officially open on Monday, November 14 with bids closing on December 22 for the Christmas gifts while further bidding continues on other items until January 9, 2017.
Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North (Habitat OGN) is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to mobilizing volunteers and community partners in building simple, decent, affordable housing. Through geared-to-income, interest-free mortgages, Habitat promotes market-value homeownership as a hand-up rather than a hand-out in breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering community well-being.
Habitat for Humanity operates a retail operation in the ReStores which help keep landfills free of usable materials and covers affiliate overhead. One hundred per cent of charitable donations will work toward local affordable housing initiatives.
