A message from the Rotary Club of Huntsville/Lake of Bays
After such a beautiful summer, it is hard to believe that winter will come – but it will – and that means it’s time to start planning for the Annual Huntsville Santa Claus Parade. The date is set for Friday November 25th – beginning at 7:00 pm. New this year: dance groups will proceed ahead of the parade beginning at 6:30pm and will each perform at Centre Street, in front of Town Hall, and at Brunel Road, West Road and Cliff Avenue.
This year’s theme is “Sharing the Human (and Animal) Spirit at Christmas”.
The annual Huntsville Santa Claus Parade is only able to proceed with the financial assistance of local businesses as parade participants and sponsors. We hope you will consider entering a float and/or sponsoring the parade this year to continue the long tradition of community involvement that brings joy and excitement to so many children and adults. The float registration deadline has been extended to Friday, November 18.
As a participant, you have the opportunity to demonstrate your organization’s holiday spirit to hundreds of local residents. As a sponsor your business will be recognized with an individual thank you sign. Monies raised from all sponsors and float entries will be used to cover advertising, bands and other parade costs, with any left-over proceeds going to fund local charity projects sponsored by the Huntsville/Lake-of-Bays Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club of Huntsville Lake of Bays is pleased to volunteer numerous hours again this year to ensure that the parade operates as smoothly as possible. The Rotary club will manage parade logistics, including arranging for marching bands, marshalling the route, supervising various venues where floats are awaiting their turn, and coordinating with other volunteers to lend a hand wherever needed. CogecoTV Huntsville will once again present live broadcasts of the event. As always, the Huntsville Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce is our partner and will assist us with receiving float entries and sponsorship forms and donations.
The parade will repeat the same route as previous years beginning at Lorne and Main Streets, with Santa and his reindeer wishing all of Huntsville a Merry Christmas as they travel to the Huntsville Place Mall along Main Street. The street is typically packed with spectators as the floats go by.
If your donation is $100 or more, you are welcome to enter a float at no additional cost. We do ask that all the floats entered in the parade have music, costumed participants, decorations and of course lights, since it is a night parade. If you would like to sponsor the Huntsville Santa Claus Parade, or want to enter a float, download the sponsor form here (PDF) or the float registration form here (PDF).
Please return the completed form along with your donation to the Huntsville Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce’s new location at 27 Main Street East (Town Hall) or contact the Sponsorship Coordinator at (705) 380-1800 and a Rotary member will pick it up from you. Please make cheques payable to The Huntsville Santa Claus Parade.
Thank you and best wishes for the upcoming holiday season!
