Robert ‘Bob’ Bruce Mace

Robert ‘Bob’ Bruce Mace of Dorset, ON, and most recently of Anagance, NB, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with loved ones by his side. Bob was born on May 1, 1962, in Huntsville, Ontario, to the late Robert ‘Gary’ Mace and Marilyn Burk.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 20 years, Lisa (Farrow) Mace, daughters; Katreina Mace and Megan Mace (Sequoia Henry), granddaughter Isis Mace, siblings; Tammy Anthony (Rick), Trevor Brickman (Leanna) and Amanda Mace-Brickman (Nathan), aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob had an incredible sense of humor and a natural curiosity about the world around him. He had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation. Bob cherished the simple pleasures in life, like embarking on family road trips and enjoying dinners out with his beloved wife, and held his reputation as a fierce competitor at the cribbage board; he played to win—and rarely lost. In his younger years, he was passionate about woodworking, playing hockey, and trapping, a craft taught by his late grandfather. He would never pass up an opportunity to share stories about these passions.

Above all, family was the center of Bob’s world. He held dear every moment spent with loved ones, and those memories will forever be treasured.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. In keeping with Bob’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, Internal Medicine.

A great man and comrade, you will be missed my friend. He was definitely a fun character for sure, but he also inspired me (and others) and made working with and being part of his personal life a joy. His internal strengths influenced and motivated, and his spirit enlightened anyone. He prized his family and had great values. Rest my friend, you’ve earned it!
