Provincial Liberals officially announce parachute candidate for Muskoka-Parry Sound

From the Liberal Party of Ontario

David Innes has been officially nominated to run for Bonnie  Crombie’s Ontario Liberal Party in Parry Sound-Muskoka.

An entrepreneur and technology specialist by trade and longtime Ontario Liberal, Innes brings 30 years of experience and volunteer work to the riding.

“The Ontario Liberal Party under Bonnie Crombie is committed to making sure we are getting the basics right and delivering more for you, like access to a family doctor, healthcare services in our community, dealing with the cost of housing, help lower the high costs of home heating fuel and restoring the  Northlander,” said Innes.

Innes has strong ties to Parry Sound–Muskoka and felt compelled to bring his extensive experience working in the provincial government and with the Ontario Liberal Party to get the people here the resources and services that are desperately required. “My pledge to this community is to work to deliver more for you. In Parry Sound-Muskoka alone 19,591 people don’t have a family doctor, or you travel long distances to get care. The Ontario Liberal Party has a clear plan to get all 2.5 million Ontarians without a family doctor one within 4 years,” said Innes, adding “I’m a good listener and I am a doer – I get things done and I will get things done for the people of Parry Sound-Muskoka.”

A vote for Liberals in Parry Sound-Muskoka = a vote for Ford/PCs. According to 338Canada and Mainstreet, Liberals are expected to get a distant third with 7-10% of the vote at best. Meanwhile, Greens’ Matt Richter was a close 2nd place in 2022 (and actually has ties to the riding), garnering 40% of the vote compared to Graydon Smith’s 45%. Only Greens are the strategic vote to block Doug Ford in Parry Sound-Muskoka.

Why is there not a strong electoral system?
Why does the Toronto area decide for Ontario?

The candidates’ debate tonight made this very evident:
Doug Ford consistently answers questions and clearly outlines plans for Ontario, tonight and with each interview or interaction.
The other provincial candidates, Liberal included, did not answer questions as posed to them, nor did they state what their political party plans might be. This is the only consistency that has been evident since the election was announced.
Extremely difficult to consider choosing any of these 3 candidates when nothing of value has been provided.
Please consider sharing the actual Liberal political position & plans for Ontario.

BJ, there is nothing “ecologically sensitive” about the no build zone they strategically placed around the GTA. Its only there to make the homes inside the build zone be worth more. It basically means younger millenials and any generation after cannot have a home where all the good jobs are, purely due to boomer greed.

There are 4 major issues for this election: health, poverty, housing, and wealth growth. The only party that is focusing on the last of these are the PC’s, here, in Ottawa and Washington. The first three, issues, and, of course education, have lingered for decades with marginal if any improvement. It seems we just don’t care. Without growth in wealth generation nothing will happen except building debt we can’t afford. We’ve already tried that. Mark Carney could be a big help federally in this, particularly in partnership with Chrystia Freeland and the major cabinet minds in Ottawa. We need them for wealth growth and Canada. The federal PC’s still want to eliminate the carbon tax, already set for reform, and the broken Canada. OOOPs!
We’ll see what the others bring up in Ontario, but don’t hold your breadth – just hope the tunnel under 401 is a gimmick.

Do the liberals have a doctor manufacturing facility somewhere? If I were running for the liberals I would promise everyone a $100,000 a year income if I were elected. That’s as likely to happen as everyone having a family doctor in 4 years. You see it’s easy to make big promises, but harder to keep them.

  6. BJ Boltauzer says:

If Bonnie Crombie’s Liberals can assure us, without leaving any doubt, that they would beef up our depleted universal health system, education and not for profit LTC fascilities, instead of dreaming, as some other politicians do, about spending money on construction of tunells between Brampton and Scarborough or developing ecologically sensitive green belt areas for profit not for affordable housing, they, the Liberals, will have much chance of winning seats also in Blue riddings such as Muskoka.
