Band on the Run

Prepare yourself for road closures during Band on the Run

As the annual Huntsville Band on the Run approaches, race directors are releasing the route changes that may affect your usual Saturday morning routine.

This Huntsville running and music event takes place Saturday June 10th, 2017. Race directors say they are working hard to ensure that it continues to be a great experience for participating runners by accommodating construction on Hwy 60 with route changes and ensuring the enjoyment of the growing number of music festival attendees with a shift in venue location.

To ensure the runners are safe during the race there will be a police-patrolled, full-road closure that will affect part of Huntsville from 8:00 a.m. to noon. See the routes posted below. Plan this into your schedule as you will not be able to drive on the restricted roads during race time.

Race Directors are very excited to announce that Hey Rosetta! will be the main performer at the afternoon music festival that will be held at Lions Lookout Field. Three thousand people are expected. Anyone wishing to attend the music festival can purchase tickets directly on the Band on the Run web page. Runners participating in the event do not need to purchase a ticket. It is included with their race registration.

The first five years of Band on the Run have been a great success. Race directors credit the dedicated local volunteers as a key factor in the success of the event. Volunteers are needed for both the morning running event and the afternoon music festival. Volunteers receive t-shirts and entry to the music festival. Anyone interested in volunteering can do so at http://bandontherun.ca/volunteers/
