UPDATE November 8: Lanes are now open on Muskoka Road 10. Note: This is still a construction zone; once paving begins, there will be single lane closures. Expect delays. Anticipated completion date remains November 12, 2016.
UPDATE November 3: Muskoka Road 10 in Port Sydney will be closed to vehicles in both directions between Candytown Lane and Edgemere Road East for a large culvert replacement at Lynx Creek. The closure will be in effect starting Tuesday, October 11, 2016 with a targeted completion date of Saturday, November 12, 2016.

Construction to replace the Lynx Creek culvert on Muskoka Road 10 at Candytown Lane is now tentatively re-scheduled to commence in mid-October. It is necessary to modify the original project timelines in order to accommodate the pending delivery of the precast culvert and to finalize all required environmental approvals.
Once all approvals are confirmed, the District Municipality of Muskoka will ensure that signage is displayed prominently so affected residents are aware of the dates the detour that will be in place. The road is anticipated to be fully closed to all traffic for approximately four weeks.
An integral part of transportation improvements in Muskoka is effective infrastructure investments. The replacement of this culvert will reduce the risk of failure and enhanced transportation system reliability for residents in the area.
