New name, more rental options, same great team

It’s no understatement to say pretty much everyone was happy to see the arrival of spring this year.

It’s a time to enjoy being outside, get your yard cleaned up and your gardens planted, and maybe get some outdoor projects completed before summer arrives. It’s time to bring on the new.

To help you with that, you’ll find some new products to get the job done at Sunbelt Rentals (formerly CRS Contractors Rental Supply) making them even more of a one-stop shop than they were before. The name may be new but whether you’re a contractor or a property owner you’ll still find the same helpful staff there ready to answer your questions and help you solve your concerns. Like these ones:

My deck took a beating this winter. What’s the best way to get it looking great again?

Freeze-thaw cycles can wreak havoc on wood, especially if moisture has been able to seep in through cracks or unfinished areas. Any wood that is badly rotted you’ll need to remove and replace, but if there are only sections that are rotted you may be able to patch them with a wood epoxy. Remove as much of the rotted material as possible and clean the remaining wood surfaces with a commercial cleaner or use a mixture of 8L of water, 2L of bleach and 500mL of liquid soap. Then follow the manufacturers’ instructions for the patching product you’ve chosen.

For painted surfaces, scrape off any peeling paint and then sand all over with coarse sandpaper and wipe away any residual dust. Follow with a new coat of paint or stain, but watch the conditions outside. It’s best to paint or stain on a cool, overcast day when the humidity is less than 70 per cent. Let the new surface dry for at least 24 hours.

My yard is a mess – there’s a tree down, there are weeds everywhere and the bushes are out of control… and all I have is a lawnmower.

Sunbelt Rentals has just about every tool you need to keep your property looking tidy, and probably a few you haven’t even thought of: from trimmers and pruners to leaf blowers and vacuums to chainsaws and wood chippers.

Sunbelt is also a Husqvarna dealer, selling and servicing weed and grass trimmers, sit down and push lawnmowers, chainsaws, and more. Husqvarna stands behind all of their equipment with amazing warranties.

But whether you own or rent your equipment, when it comes to any power tools—lawn and landscape or otherwise—be sure you have the proper safety equipment before you begin.

I’m having a party but my barbecue is broken and I don’t want to buy a new one. I guess we’ll just have salad.

Nope—you can grill to your heart’s content if you rent an industrial barbeque from Sunbelt Rentals. They also have the cheapest propane refills in town, and other party supplies like tables, chairs, temporary fencing, and old-time popcorn makers. Bring on the ribs!

I need to take certification courses for my new job. You rent construction equipment—where would you recommend I get training from?

Sunbelt does that, too! They are a Ministry of Labour Centre for courses in Working from Heights, Elevated Work Platforms, Propane, Forklift, Low Explosives and Chainsaw Training.

So, you see? Whatever you need, Sunbelt Rentals can help.

“Our service people are experienced and knowledgeable and are going to be able to help. They are well-versed in all of the equipment and its uses,” says Phil Betts, Manager at Huntsville’s Sunbelt Rentals. “And we’re excited to be able to offer our customers more inventory and more resources under Sunbelt Rentals than we’ve ever had before.”

Sunbelt Rentals is located at 40 Cairns Crescent in Huntsville. Contact them at (705) 788-7718 or visit sunbeltrentals.com to learn more.

  1. In my estimation Sunbelt (formerly CRS) have been one of the more generous business in Town over the years. As a member of the Rotary Club of Huntsville, and in my Huntsville Festival day job, they have been very supportive whenever we’ve needed fencing/barriers or the odd tool, charging very little or donating the goods. Hats off to the crew at Sunbelt!
