Name released in Hwy 60 hit and run

Shortly after 1:00am on Saturday March 18, 2017 members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Services responded to the scene of an injured pedestrian on Highway #60 East of Allison’s Point Road in Huntsville

A 33 year old Huntsville man was struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported by ground to a local Hospital then subsequently airlifted to a hospital in southern Ontario with serious injuries.

The vehicle involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene.

As a result of the ongoing investigation Thomas REYNOLDS (44yrs) of Burlington, ON was charged with Fail to remain and Fail to Report Accident both under the Highway Traffic Act. The accused appeared in Bracebridge court on June 27, 2017 to answer to those charges.

The victim was also charged with Pedestrian Fail to Walk on Left Side of Highway under the Highway Traffic Act.
