Muskoka Seniors and Huntsville Meals on Wheels are pleased to announce that effective April 1, 2022, these two organizations have merged their delivery services and Muskoka Seniors has become the singular organization to provide hot and frozen Meals on Wheels delivery in the Huntsville area.
Huntsville Meals on Wheels, the providers of the hot meals program, has served Huntsville since the 1970s. Although this valuable program is available to anyone who needs it, it is one that many seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans depend on.
Muskoka Seniors is honoured to be selected to continue this longstanding program and to provide the same quality service and care as Huntsville Meals on Wheels did for almost 50 years.
“Muskoka Seniors was the obvious choice, as they not only have the staffing in place to handle the administrative requirements, but they also have experience with running a frozen food program,” said Karen Litchfield, Meals on Wheels board chair. “It only made sense to have a ‘one-stop shop’ food experience for Huntsville’s clients.”
Muskoka Seniors is a not-for-profit charitable organization and their mission is to keep seniors independent, safe, and connected. They offer many different services in addition to meal delivery including transportation, friendly visiting, social connections, and grocery delivery.
“In order to ensure meals are accessible for anyone who needs them, we are happy to be the singular organization to provide hot and frozen meal delivery in the Huntsville Community,” said Angela Barager, Meals on Wheels coordinator. “Our team is well versed in the process, having served over 7,000 meals to over 150 clients in 2021 alone.”
