Muskoka Loppet draws largest contingent of skiers in 15 years

Arrowhead Park saw 373 Nordic ski racers of all ages this year for the Muskoka Loppet. It was the largest number of registrants since the event was reinvigorated 15 years ago. Ages of participants ranged from 4 to 85. There were three main races for the day: 30km, 15km and 5km.

The temperature was a balmy four degrees Celsius but the staff at Arrowhead Park were still able to provide an excellent skiing surface. The superintendent compared the snow consistency to ‘mashed potatoes’ but there was no ice. Arrowhead Nordic thanked all of the volunteers and sponsors who made this year’s Loppet event possible.

Local skiers from Arrowhead Nordic Ski Team made the podium in many categories.
