My wife and I moved from the GTA to Huntsville in 2004, shortly after welcoming our first son into the world.  We had visited family in the area and we knew this is where we wanted to live.  We fell in love with the character, the warm and welcoming residents, the downtown, spectacular natural environment and many diverse activities that made Huntsville an ideal place to raise a family.  After welcoming our second son in 2006 and our third son in 2009, Huntsville was officially our family home.

Professionally, I have over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology field.  I am currently working for a local company as an IT Supervisor, where I am a leader amongst my peers.  I have spent many years volunteering in our community, mostly with local sports organizations.  I am a dedicated coach who enjoys teaching the youth of the community the passion of sport and fair play.  I believe volunteering and giving back to your community is one of the most powerful and selfless acts we can do for our fellow citizens.

I care about the environment and our impact on the earth.  We need to ensure action is taken to slow down and stop climate change. I believe in governments who work to improve society for their constituents.  The issue of affordable housing is critical to the future of Huntsville and we must find creative solutions to tackle this problem.  My business experience and knowledge, both financial and technological, allows me to bring a unique perspective to town council.  I’m a measured and thoughtful leader who is open to discussion and considers all sides of a problem or issue before making a decision.  I believe my experiences and perspectives can help to positively shape the future vision of council decisions.

Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, my early life was spent there raising a young family and working in the telecommunications field. My work, thankfully, moved my family and me to Huntsville in 2001. I immersed myself into the community and culture quickly as living here has provided me with the opportunity to fully enjoy all my favourite hobbies of hockey, snowmobiling and boating. Nowadays I get to share all these hobbies with my 5 grandchildren.

I have been heavily involved in various hockey organizations and have been volunteering with The Huntsville Otter’s Junior C team since 2011 as the President. When I’m not at the rink I’m running my small business, Muskoka Crane, which I acquired in 2006, as Owner/Operator.

I have always been interested in local politics and look forward to serving Brunel Ward if elected. Like Daniel Armour, I also intend to be a strong voice at the council table. One of the key points of my platform is to keep improving our town infrastructure, while doing so in a cost efficient manner. That’s not just roads, but the facilities that serve the people of Huntsville. Affordable housing is a big issue we are facing, one that I feel requires all levels of government to work together in order to provide a solution. I will bring a common sense approach to solving the issues that are before council, and I’m excited at the opportunity to serve the people of Brunel Ward and the Town of Huntsville.

I was born and raised in Brunel. My local roots date back to when my  grandparents escaped Ukraine in the early 1900`s. They cleared land and settled down to farming here in Brunel. I built my home adjacent to those properties. I am presently the founder and owner of our Spring Water bottling facility, the only source of true Muskoka water right here in Brunel.

I bring to the table my accumulated knowledge of several years working as a  heavy equipment operator as a member of Operating Engineers. I worked  several years in Western Canada and NWT in pipeline construction. My work  required quick thinking, expertise and understanding of soil structure, drainage, forestry, geology and in building construction. I am able to apply thoughtful suggestions when it comes to infrastructure, building and roadways as well as sewer and water work.

My strong suit would be public works and physical services. I also know how extremely important our waterways and wetlands are to our environment and support increased measures to ensure a clean sustainable future.

Huntsville is my home and I would like to retain our small town stature. We must protect and preserve our natural environment.
Thanks for reading.
