Mark Edward Janke

Passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home in Huntsville.  Mark was born on May 13, 1966, in Guelph, Ontario, and is the dear son of Ed and the late Marion Janke.  He leaves behind his beloved children, Brandon (Emily), Matthew, and Jocelyn to mourn his passing. He will be missed by, Maggie Janke (nee Lister), his brother Mike and sister Karen.  Predeceased by his stepmother, Lynne Janke.  Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Growing up, Mark loved and played lacrosse where he made lifelong friends.  He enjoyed fishing, and hunting and especially loved Kawagama Lake and his sunset fishing.  Mark was always up for a good game of hockey whether it was watching his own kids play, coaching or just watching the Leafs, patiently waiting for them to win the Stanley Cup.

Mark loved the outdoors which would lead him to pursue a career in forestry.  He would later obtain a trade specialty as an industrial millwright at KWH and MAHC. He will be remembered for his kind heart and being the one to always lend a hand to those who needed one.  Mark was proud of his children and loved them dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Huntsville Minor Hockey through [email protected]
