MAHC to hold a recruitment fair for Registered Nurses

Are you a Registered Nurse interested in joining a team of caring professionals working at Muskoka’s hospitals? Then Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s (MAHC) Recruitment Fair is for you.

Registered Nurses who wish to start a rewarding career in health care at MAHC are invited to drop in to the Recruitment Fair on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Boardroom at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital site.

MAHC is seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses to provide outstanding care in Emergency, Surgical Services, Intensive Care, Obstetrics and Medicine at our two acute care sites.

All RN applicants are asked to bring their up-to-date resume and to come prepared to be interviewed on the spot.

“MAHC is building on the success of our 2015 recruitment fair where we recruited many qualified people in one day,” explains Robert Alldred-Hughes, Chief Executive, Human Resources & Support Services. “We are always recruiting top-notch professionals and are excited to meet and discuss the possibilities that await Registered Nurses at MAHC, because life here is good, MAHC makes it better.”

Recruitment is necessary but so is retention. I know of 3 great RNs who have recently asked to be designated “casual” staff at MAHC while they pursue education in the field but were not given that option as there weren’t available casual positions! What? Are you kidding me? You can’t create a casual position to retain a highly skilled RN? Now you are down 3 RNs who would have picked up shifts but instead were given no option except to resign.
