It’s a small chapter with big heart and it once again has national recognition to show for it.
Debbie Dale, president of the Huronia Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI) as well as president of local condominium management company, MCRS, received the 2020 Lorne Young Chapter of the Year award on behalf of CCI Huronia at the recent CCI Fall National Leaders’ Forum.
The Lorne Young Chapter of the Year is awarded to the CCI chapter providing the most benefit to its members and exceeding the minimum requirements in all areas of chapter recertification requirements.
The goal of CCI Huronia is to provide education, information, and support to local condominium owners and directors. One of their key member benefits is their national resource library and webinars for information on all things condo (which may be found online at no cost).
The pandemic made in-person educational opportunities impossible, but the shift to virtual platforms has allowed the chapter to reach a larger audience. CCI Huronia’s board of directors was innovative in their strategies, including designing and delivering frequent educational webinars to help guide condo boards and associated businesses through unprecedented issues and challenges.
“Our team found inner strength and a way to rally, almost against all odds, and land on our feet,” said Dale, who has been renamed chapter president. “Thanks to the spectacular CCI Huronia team members who have each played their own important roles in drawing this distinction to our chapter.”
The award is normally presented in person at the Fall National Leaders’ Forum, but the event was held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this win for 2020, CCI Huronia has won the Lorne Young Chapter of the Year award four times.
Dale is thrilled to be leading the CCI Huronia chapter, which stretches from Barrie to North Bay, for a second time. With a multi-decade property management career, Dale now operates MCRS Property Management in Huntsville and is heavily involved in the condominium world. She is also the only Muskoka-based condominium expert serving on the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO) Advisory Committee.
MCRS Property Management provides CMRAO licensed condominium management services to condominium corporations in Muskoka, Parry Sound, Simcoe, Haliburton, and beyond.
