Welcome to Wayback Wednesday sponsored by Cavalcade Color Lab! Every week, we’ll be sharing a vintage photo and asking our readers to chime in with anything you can recall about the photo, other related memories, or even a funny caption. Have some vintage photos of your own? Send them to [email protected] and we may share them with our readers!

In this week’s photo, the community gathers in celebration…of what? Can you guess? (No giving it away if you’re part of the group that supplied the photo! We’ll provide the source next week.) In the meantime, can you identify anyone in the photo? A local organization is trying to piece together who was there.

Last week we shared this photo with you:
These men are (from left) Jack Bionda, Ken Thompson and then-mayor Gordon Snell. Jack was there, on December 8, 1982, to accept a plaque from the Town of Huntsville awarded in honour if his induction to the Canadian Sport Hall of Fame. The plaque originally hung on the wall at Town Hall and is now located in the Canada Summit Centre.
