Hydro One crews are ready to respond to any outages that may result from the high winds expected across northern Ontario over the next two days. They are also monitoring for the potential of freezing rain accretion in central and eastern Ontario.

There are currently an estimated 227 customers without power in the Dwight/ Oxtongue River area. Restoration time is listed as approximately 11:15 a.m. this morning, April 5, 2023.

So bad that Lakeland built a microgrid battery project to cope with the many outages from Hydro One.
Before they could even test it an outage occurred.
It kept the lights on.

Bracebridge is surrounded by hydro generating plants that have all been recently upgraded to produce far more power.
Lakeland is likely also considering seemlessly isolating and powering downtown and a big chunk of the surrounding area independent from outside power and creating another microgrid.
That would be nice since the unreliable outside power supply is no longer maintained like it used to be.
