Huntsville Theatre Company (HTC) is putting the finishing touches on their latest production, Wait Until Dark.
Written by Frederick Knott and directed by Dan Vanderveer, the play follows Susy Hendrix, a blind housewife who becomes the target of three con men searching for heroin hidden in a doll. A doll her husband, Sam, unknowingly transported from Canada as a favour to a woman who has since been murdered.
“It’s going to keep audiences on the edge of their seats,” said Vanderveer. “I am fortunate to have such a passionate and dedicated cast. They have worked really hard to bring these characters to life.”
The cast includes Alicia Calway as Susy Hendrix, David Walton as Roat, Mark Rodrigues as Sam Hendrix and Carlino, Richard Hutchison as Mike, Millie Cassie-Batchelor as Gloria, and Melissa Candelaria and Ethan Cochrane as patrol officers.
HTC has partnered with Land of Lakes Public School in Burk’s Falls to host the show on their theatre stage.
HTC President Lauren Saunders is excited about this opportunity. “We are extremely grateful to Land of Lakes for lending us their theatre. The theatre is amazing; a perfect space for Wait Until Dark,” said Saunders. “This is a fantastic opportunity for us expand our reach to Huntsville and Almaguin residents.”
Wait Until Dark runs from February 15-18 with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. along with two matinee shows on February 17 and February 18 at 2 p.m. Land of Lakes Public School is located at 92 Ontario Street, Burk’s Falls. Tickets are on sale now online or at Treasures & Trophies.
