OPP investigating fatal snowmobile collision

Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fatal snowmobile collision in the Township of Algonquin Highlands.

According to the OPP, on February 10, 2023, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers and emergency services responded to a report of a single snowmobile crashing into a tree on an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) Trail between Little Hawk Lake and Big Hawk Lake in the Township of Algonquin Highlands. The lone rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as a 37-year-old male from Lancaster, New York.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists are assisting with the investigation.
