Huntsville’s men’s and ladies’ slo-pitch seasons are in full swing

Ladies’ and men’s slo-pitch are popular summer sports, with 12 and 22 teams respectively in the local leagues.

The Huntsville Ladies’ Slo-Pitch League meet at the diamonds every Tuesday starting at 6:30pm. It is a fun, competitive game for dedicated women who love the game.

“I joined Huntsville ladies’ slo-pitch when I was 16 and had a warm welcome to my team currently of 16 years! (I’m 32 now),” writes Brodie Rosbottom-Baumhour, a player with Nadrofsky Lumber. “Lots of friendships were made as well of lots of families on the team from mothers and daughters (I play with my sister and mom) and sisters, cousins, etc. I love playing with my mom who is probably the oldest player in the entire league. She has played for 46 years – mostly fastball in her younger years. I have made lots of friendships through this league . I also had the experience of being president on the executive for three years. A lot of effort and time goes into running this league.”

Throughout the season, Nadrofsky Lumber has awarded a “Game MVP” medallion from each team to a player who stood out, played hard, and overall had a great game. Nadrofsky Lumber wants to recognize players for their efforts and achievements throughout the season. On August 8, 2017 Terilyn from Dig It Chicks was awarded the Game MVP! Way to go! Congrats to all of the winners so far.

The Huntsville Men’s Slo-Pitch League offers an organized, competitive and recreational sport for men 16 years of age and older. Games are played Mondays and Thursdays starting at 6:30.

The men were playing hard while having fun on Monday, August 14, 2017. In the photos below, the Knots met Kelsey’s Crushers on the diamond.
