Program for the official opening of Huntsville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 17, 1949, front cover, now the site of the current Fairvern Nursing Home from Muskoka Digital Archives.

The program read: Auditorium at 2 p.m. Presiding H.E. Rice, Chairman Hospital Committee, public invited.
Reception 3 p.m. “The platform guests are invited to afternoon tea and sandwiches at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Rice, 74 Main Street, as guests of the local Hospital Committee”
Opening Ceremonies at 4 p.m. at the Hospital. Ran Jupp presiding, Huntsville Hospital Committee.
Civic Banquet at Empire Hotel 6:30 p.m. Presiding Mayor Israel Ginsburg.
Dance at Auditorium 9 p.m. Maurice Wieler and his Orchestra are giving their services gratuitously. Gilbert Antcliffe will be Master of Ceremonies. Refreshments will be served by a ladies’ committee headed by Mrs. H. G. Mulhern and Mrs. Arthur Hutcheson. General Chairman of the Dance Committee, Arthur Hutcheson, assisted by Ran Jupp. Tickets $1.00 per person. Entire proceeds in aid of Hospital Fund.

    I was born in that hospital 4 years later, and the nurses made my mom a birthday cake.
