Huntsville man sentenced in child luring case

A Huntsville man appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom on Wednesday for sentencing in a child luring case.

In May 2021, as a result of an investigation by the Huntsville OPP, Muskoka Crime Unit, Child Exploitation Unit and the Digital Forensics Unit of the OPP, Brock Gould, now 33, was charged with adult luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication; and adult luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication.

The details of the investigation fall under a publication ban.

After Gould pleaded guilty, the lawyers offered a joint submission on sentencing.

Court heard Gould has a previous criminal record, but the offences are unrelated and dated.

Gould was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest, during which time he cannot access the internet and is not to be with anyone under the age of 16 (with some exceptions). He was also given 12 months of probation.
