A Huntsville man who stole everything from beer kegs to Cadbury eggs before committing a robbery at a downtown gas station had his day in court recently.
Aron Lamoureux, 39, appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom to plead guilty to a range of offences, including break-and-enter, robbery and having his face concealed with the intent to commit a robbery.
On March 14, 2024, the police received a call about a suspicious person attempting to return beer kegs to Canvas Brewery in Huntsville. Using video surveillance, it was determined that Lamoureux had stolen the kegs from various restaurants in town. While obtaining the kegs, it was found that Lamoureux had broken into a shed.
On March 23, 2024, Lamoureux entered a gas station on Main Street, where he was observed on video stealing drinks and a Cadbury Creme Egg. A short time later, he re-entered the gas station wearing a balaclava and demanded staff open the till, which they did. He made off with roughly $250 in cash and some ice cream and chocolate bars.
He was again identified via video surveillance.
Lamoureux was sentenced to 45 days under house arrest and 45 days under curfew, as well as 18 months of probation. He was also banned from attending several stores in town.
