Huntsville driver hits hydro pole and gets arrested for impaired

On October 29, 2024, at 4:08 p.m., Huntsville OPP attended a motor vehicle collision on Domtar Road. The collision involved a pickup truck striking a hydro pole. Muskoka EMS assessed the driver for injury at the scene and did not require any further medical attention. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired and subsequently arrested.

Gary CZECH, 44 years old of Huntsville is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was suspended from driving for 90 days as per Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS)

The accused is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 10, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

The OPP reminds drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.
