We hope that you will join us for a memorable evening supporting a vital cause in our community.”
Brewing for a Cause
Hospice Huntsville is excited to announce a new initiative with the Canvas Brewing Company. This week Canvas unveiled a new craft beer, Haskap Harvest Kolsch. Canvas will be donating $1.00 to Hospice Huntsville from every Haskap Harvest Kolsch product sold.

“The Haskap Harvest Kolsch is a fruity twist on our classic Original Brew. The Haskap berry is a northern superfruit with notes of blueberry sweetness and cranberry tartness. We infused our Original Kolsch-style ale with the extract of the Haskap berry to create a brew with a bready and fruity sweetness and a slightly tart crisp finish. Canvas is so excited to be a part of this fundraiser and we hope you enjoy this beer as much as we enjoyed making it.” said Head Brewer, Seguin Sailors.
The colourful label artwork was created by Brent Ellerson from Brandcamp Design. The design was intended to embody the bright colour palette and juicy appeal of the infused Haskap Berry in addition to representing the Hospice Huntsville brand. “I wanted the public to reach for the vibrant design and feel really good about supporting Hospice while enjoying a tasty local beer,” he said. This special brew will be sold at Canvas and on weekends at Sandhill Nursery’s Fall Festival for a limited time.

About Hospice Huntsville
Hospice Huntsville provides quality end-of-life care for members of our community who are living with a life-limiting illness. The organization provides extended support for family members/caregivers. Hospice Huntsville has been providing palliative care support to our community since 1989. Our visiting volunteer program provides bedside support in our client’s homes, at Algonquin Grace Hospice Residence, or at the hospital. This service will allow family and caregiver respite. The grief and bereavement program supports families and caregivers after their loved one has died. Algonquin Grace Hospice Residence welcomed its first hospice residents in January 2012. The beautiful five-bed facility provides 24-hour professional, compassionate nursing and personal support. To date, Hospice Huntsville/Algonquin Grace has cared for more than 1,000 families in our community.
Hospice Huntsville is a registered charity that relies on community support to raise approximately 60% of their annual operating costs; in order to offer programs and services at no charge to residents and their families.
Brewmaster Seguin Sailors and Linda Fraser, Canvas Brewing Company Front of House Manager talk about the Haskap Harvest Kolsch at its unveiling on September 12 at Canvas Brewing Company on John Street in Huntsville.

As a volunteer for Huntsville Hospice, I can attest that it is indeed, a beautiful palliative care facility with the most compassionate, hard working, dedicated team you can ever imagine! They go above and beyond. We are very blessed and fortunate to have such an incredible end-of- life care facility in Huntsville. The residence is homey with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is an honour to be a part of this service.
