Do you remember when Huntsville High School (HHS) had uniforms? Or when the entrance was off Brunel Road? Maybe you were a student or a teacher when the new technical wing was added. Or maybe you’re a current student making memories for the future. No matter what your connection to HHS, a small but dedicated group of volunteers is looking for your interest in a Canada 150 reunion.
All past and current students, teachers and support staff are invited to celebrate Huntsville High School’s 113 years on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Details are still to be confirmed because organizers are looking for your input. First and most importantly, will you attend? (It’s not much of a celebration if no one shows!). And they’re looking for your suggestions for the location and activities for that day.
Organizers also need some help with a variety of tasks – if you’re able to help in any way, with advance planning (a little or a lot) or on the day of the reunion, contact [email protected]. And don’t forget to send them a note if you plan to attend!
You can also leave a comment and check for updates on the reunion Facebook page here: The Great Huntsville High School Reunion.

Marg Cairns now Wiegand: I graduated from HHS in 1954.
I am interested in events for a reunion but whether I can attend depends on many factors.
I am interested in receiving your newsletter and we can only see what life throws our way when the time comes.
Good luck with this.

Oh, my goodness! I drew the cover of that year book! My dad, who did beautiful hand engraving on jewellery, did the lettering!
What a surprise to see it here! ?
Valerie Corbett says
I am certainly interested in attending the reunion!! I was a student ,1949 to1955 at HHS. After university, I taught one year in Lindsey ON , then was hired by Harry Thornton in 1960, to teach Math and Science . I retired, June, 1992, so I have a long connection with HHS!!!!

Love to attend!!!
Brian Tapley says
I graduated in 1969 and the “new” tech wing was my favorite part of the school. Although the teachers tried their best and I respect them for their efforts, French was not my high point! Everything else was pretty good.
I’d go to a reunion and yes, I remember the main entrance being off Brunel Road, the uniforms and Val Corbett too!

Wondering about acquiring copies of year books at the reunion. For me it would be 1980- 1984. I’m sure others would be interested too. Some how mine have been lost along this journey called life.
Dave Scott says
I plan to attend.
I was a student for only two years: 1959-60 and 60 -61. Years later, I was hired by Greg Munce and Terry Clarke to teach English ( 1988-98)
My mother, Cay Scott taught English there for quite a few years in the 60s and 70s . She used to host year end parties at her resort, Clyffe House in Port Sydney. (Some of those parties in late June were “legendary”.
I moved home to Port Sydney and now run the Clyffe House Cottage Resort. (When my mother ran the resort, she served meals; my “contribution” was to close the dining room and convert the buildings to housekeeping.)
Huntsville High was a great school. Very good teachers when I was there as a student and also when I returned in 1988. Graduates were very successful in University and College and in life.
I kept my mother’s tradition of hosting the year-end June staff parties but my parties were tame compared to hers. Anyone remember Doug Stone’s retirement party at Clyffe House??? Best to keep that one quiet.
Brian Tapley mentioned his difficulties with French. Me too. I dropped French in grade 13 and took Latin. Paul Chisholm coached 10 of us to success in the grade thirteen departmental exams that year.
