Household hazardous waste drop off in Huntsville Saturday, May 3 until 2 p.m.

You can dispose of things like cooking oil, cleaners, paints, gas, batteries, and light bulbs for free at 169 Madill Church Road in Huntsville this Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

If that date doesn’t work for you, the next mobile collection event in Huntsville is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2025, also from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lake of Bays

There is also a hazardous waste collection depot at the Dwight Transfer Station, 1020 Oxtongue Rapids Road, Dwight, on Saturday, May 10, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

No charge drop-off

Muskoka residents can drop off household hazardous waste free of charge at scheduled events such as the one noted above or at the District year-round facility in Bracebridge.

    This is another reason why each lower tier municipality should be responsible for it’s own waste. This service should be year round 7 days a week for everyone. How much hazardous waste goes into our landfill hidden in garbage because there is no hazardous waste depot in (Huntsville, Lake of Bays etc.), because the year round site is centrally located and people won’t/don’t want to drive that distance?
