Griffin and Sofia’s lemonade stand is back this weekend in support of SickKids

THIS BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON

Brought to you by these community-minded organizations because they recognize that
good business is good for everyone:

In the past four years, eight-year-old Griffin Graham has raised $6,000 for SickKids at his annual lemonade stand. His five-year-old sister, Sofia, joined him last year and this year the pair are hoping that the community will stop by Huntsville Home Hardware this Saturday to support their efforts again. There will also be baked treats for sale, along with a charity barbecue behind the store.

Griffin’s dad, Mike, who owns the Home Hardware with his wife Christine Barkey, says that his son is “even more stoked than ever. He likes to see the results and it’s fun to see it build every year.” He adds that they even have customers who drop off donations ahead of time if they aren’t going to be in town.

Griffin was recently recognized for his efforts at the Muskoka Community Foundation’s Smart and Caring Muskoka Celebration.

The fifth annual lemonade stand coincides with Mike and Christine’s fifth anniversary as owners of the store. They’ll be celebrating this weekend and thanking their customers with door prizes, a truckload sale, and store and garden centre deals, too. Look for a door crasher deal on Beauti-Tone paint with 25 per cent off ceiling paint, acrylic eggshell paint, and no VOC Primer Sealer—if you don’t know what colour you want, you can still buy it this weekend and get it tinted later. Select frying pans will be 53 per cent off, extension cords 50 per cent off, 24-pack AA batteries 40 per cent off, and single-control kitchen faucet 50 per cent off.

Some industry reps will be on site on Saturday to talk about products like Beauti-Tone paint, Broil King barbecues, and food for plants.

“We are blessed with really great staff, a very supportive community and a very loyal customer base. Thank you for your continuous support,” says Mike. “We are loving it more and more every day and we have big plans for the future. In a nutshell, we are just getting started.”
