Got compost? District of Muskoka free compost giveaway is on now

Each year, for Earth Day, the District of Muskoka offers nutrient-rich compost to Muskoka residents free of charge.

This year’s giveaway is at the parking lot of Conroy Park on Town Line Road East, while supplies last. Bring your own buckets and shovel.

The compost is created from the leaf and yard waste and green bin organics collected through the District of Muskoka’s residential curbside collection program. That material is taken to the District’s processing pad in Gravenhurst where it is turned into high quality compost.

The District says that the compost meets the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) compost guidelines for Grade AA compost. Grade AA compost is the highest quality and may be used without restriction.

Get it while it lasts!
