Environment Canada issues Special Weather Statement

Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada on Monday, March 3 at 2:56

Significant rainfall and mild temperatures are expected Wednesday, impacting areas including the Muskoka and Almaguin Highlands regions.

What:
Rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm.

When:
Beginning Tuesday night and ending Wednesday night.

Additional information:
On Wednesday, the area will experience heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms. This rainfall, combined with melting snow and the frozen ground’s limited ability to absorb it, may lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas and water pooling on roads.

For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or post reports on X using #ONStorm.
